“I was horrified to learn of the shooting of former US President Donald Trump during his campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Such violence has no justification and should have no place anywhere in the world. Violence must never win,” he wrote.
Zelensky noted that he was glad that Trump was already safe and wished him a speedy recovery. He also expressed condolences to the relatives of the victim of this attack – a participant in the rally. “I wish strength to everyone who was shocked by this event. I wish America to come out of this stronger,” he said.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova also condemned the attack on the 45th US President and called for all those responsible to be held accountable. She noted that Ukraine was shocked to learn of the horrific attack on Trump in Butler. The diplomat added that all those responsible must be held accountable.
Recall that on July 14, an attempt was made on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania. After shots were fired, security guards covered the former president and led him off the stage. It later became known that Trump received a minor gunshot wound. One of the spectators and the attacker died.
