In Salem district, 21 new people were diagnosed with corona infection yesterday. Eight people in Salem Corporation, two each in Omalur, Vazhappadi, Mettur and Veerapandi, one each in Sankagiri, Kadayampatti, Ayodhyapatnam, Attur and one each from Namakkal to Salem were affected by the corona. As a result, the number of corona victims in the district has increased to one lakh 27 thousand 216. The 102 people who were being treated for the infection were discharged yesterday as they recovered. 487 people are being treated for corona in government and private hospitals. A 70-year-old man from Salem who was suffering from corona died at a private hospital without any treatment. This brings the number of corona deaths in the district to 1,762.
