Who is Prerak Mankad?
Mankad made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings in 2022, but failed to make an impact in his first season. Representing Saurashtra in the domestic circuit, he made his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2016. His all-round performances with both bat and ball made him a regular member in the starting lineup for Saurashtra in all three formats.
He was bought by Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023 auction at a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Mankad, who hails from Rajkot, Gujarat, is adept at taking wickets and throwing the ball out of the field. Apart from this, Mankad has scored 2006 runs and taken 43 wickets in 46 first-class matches. In List-A cricket, he has scored 1535 runs and 38 wickets while 941 runs and 22 wickets in 44 T20 matches.

In a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2023, Prerak Mankad’s bat spoke loudly. He showed his real class. Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and put 182 runs on the board. While chasing this target (183 runs), Mankad played an unbeaten innings of 64 runs in 45 balls and made Lucknow win the match. It was from here that Mankad came into the limelight.
