The European Parliament failed to determine today with the first vote all 14 vice-presidents of the institution. This was announced by Roberta Mezzola, who was re-elected earlier today as head of the European Parliament.
701 MEPs took part in the secret ballot for vice-presidents, and the actual votes were 665. In the first ballot, the EP elected 11 deputies, and in the second, the remaining three are yet to be determined. A total of 17 candidates took part in the first election and in the second ballot the six not elected will again be included in the ballots. The result of the vote is expected late this evening.
Tomorrow the MEPs will determine the four quaestors of the institution and the distribution in the parliamentary committees. On Thursday, they will vote on the proposal of the European Council to re-elect Ursula von der Leyen as head of the European Commission for the next five years, BTA reported.
