/ The Ministry of Planning announced, on Monday, setting July 1 as the final date for the entry of products that do not bear the “Iraqi Quality” mark, calling on manufacturing and supplying companies to obtain it.

The Ministry’s media office said in a statement received by Agency, “The Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, one of the formations of the Ministry of Planning, called on companies manufacturing electrical products and cigarettes imported to Iraq to obtain the Iraqi quality mark for their imported products.”

He added that “this decision came based on the decision of the Ministerial Council for the Economy,” explaining that “the products included home storage electric water heaters, in addition to room heaters, as well as electric cooling devices (refrigerator, freezer), as well as air conditioners, electric ovens and cigarettes.”

He explained that “the last date on which the above products, which do not bear the Iraqi quality mark, are allowed to enter Iraq is the first of July 2024,” noting that “the competent regulatory authorities will take legal action against violators of this decision.”
