Mr. Lavrov praises Morocco’s efforts in the success of the 6th Russia-Arab World Cooperation Forum in Marrakech
Marrakech – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov welcomed, on Wednesday in Marrakech, the significant efforts made by Morocco to ensure the successful organization of the 6th edition of the Russia-Arab World Cooperation Forum in Marrakech.
“Morocco has made great efforts to make the organization of this forum a success, which will contribute to strengthening Russian-Arab relations,” said the head of Russian diplomacy during a joint press briefing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and the Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League, Houssam Zaki, at the end of the 6th edition of the Russia-Arab World Cooperation Forum.
He added that “Morocco is one of our main partners on the African continent and in the Arab world and we have joint projects”, stressing that Russia intends to develop its partnership with the Kingdom in several vital areas, such as culture, mining and energy.
Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Mr. Lavrov said that his country, in coordination with its partners, particularly Arab ones, has made efforts to ensure the long-term stability of the situation and find a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through diplomatic channels.
