China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, said on Tuesday that NATO will stop at nothing to expand its influence, provoke conflict around the world and shift the blame to others.

Cong, during an open discussion at the UN Security Council on the topic of “Multilateral cooperation for a more just, democratic and sustainable world order”, said: “NATO is a regional military bloc left over from the Cold War, trying to expand its sphere . influence, and will stop at nothing to prove… “False stories add fuel to the fire wherever they are seen, they incite strife and resort to blame-shifting.”
He explained that “NATO’s interpretation of the Ukrainian issue is in direct conflict with what the international community is doing in terms of persuasion and promoting peace.”
Cong added: “China advises NATO and other countries with questions to self-examine and stop raising problems that endanger common security at the expense of others.”
