The Farels are a powerful former couple: Jean (Pierre Arditi) is a prominent French columnist and his wife Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg) an essayist, known for her radical feminism. They have a model son, Alexandre (Ben Attal, son of the director and Charlotte Gainsbourg), who attends a prestigious American university. During a brief visit to Paris, Alexandre meets Mila (Suzanne Jouannet), daughter of her mother’s new partner, and invites her to a party. The next day, Mila files a complaint against Alexandre on rape charges, destroying family harmony and setting in motion an inextricable media-judicial machine that will present opposite truths.
