Two decomposing bodies were discovered in a compound in Sonfonia Gare.
It concerns a mother by the name of Hadja Oumou and her daughter Kadiatou Laka Camara, a 7th grade student, who were discovered on Monday July 15 in their rotting house after several days of disappearance.
After a travel announcement made by the victim, it took a strong smell, large flies and caterpillars to alert the neighborhood.

He stayed a long time, I think 2 days later they started to see the big flies and they said to themselves: but (the deceased Hadja Oumou Camara) did not remove the scales of the fish that is why the flies are flocking”, informs Elhadj Aboubacar Sidiki Camara, one of the parents of the mother, who continues in these terms: “We called Boffa, the people of Boffa said they did not see her. So they continued the investigations and decided to break down the door and they discovered that there were indeed 2 bodies: the mother and her daughter.
The authorities were called, the Red Cross came and they identified the bodies. They wrapped them up and buried them at night yesterday. To my knowledge, she was not suffering from anything, even her husband testified, even people testified that she left the stove with the charcoal fire burning.”
Regarding the cause of these deaths, the carbon released by charcoal is indexed.
“We assumed that it was the carbon dioxide released by the charcoal that caused their death.”
After the intervention of the security services, the victims were buried. This once again rekindles the debate on the dangers associated with the use and storage of charcoal in homes.
