The Cuban-American businessman Sergio Pine He died on Tuesday, July 16, apparently after committing suicide, according to reports from various Florida media outlets.
The tycoon was reportedly found dead during an FBI raid at his home in Coral Gables on Tuesday morning.
In this regard, some sources indicated that Sergio Pino apparently took his own life. However, the authorities confirmed his death in the last few hours without offering further details on the matter.
In recent hours, FBI agents along with local police officers were seen outside the billionaire’s home located on Isla Dorada Boulevard in the exclusive Cocoplum neighborhood in Coral Gables.
Local 10 News reported that officers removed electronic devices, safes and three boxes of documents from the home. The raid was reportedly part of an FBI investigation.
It is important to mention that Sergio Pino was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1956, but came to the United States when he was still a minor. He was recognized as a prominent businessman in the real estate and construction business in South Florida, being the founder of Century Homebuilders Group, which is described on the Internet as “one of the largest Hispanic homebuilders in the nation.”
However, in recent times Sergio Pino had generated unrest in the Cuban exile community in Miami after he supported and met with alleged owners of MSMEs on the communist island, who are nothing more than State Security agents disguised as “entrepreneurs” whose objective is to obtain American financing to benefit the communist leadership.
“I don’t think anyone here is an infiltrator. What we have here are people who have been given an opportunity and are taking advantage of that opportunity to grow,” said Pino on that occasion after receiving the owners of the MSMEs in his mansion.
