Organized by ONEE in partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection as part of the “B7ar Bla Plastic” operation, this visit aims to raise awareness and encourage children to preserve water resources, protect beaches and their environment, and fight against pollution.

It also aims to raise awareness of the activities of the central laboratory and its role in monitoring and controlling water quality, in addition to raising children’s awareness of the efforts made by ONEE in this area.

This visit was an ideal opportunity to inform the young public about the stages of water treatment and the techniques used to guarantee its quality and safety, in particular through a visit to the Water Museum at the Office’s headquarters, the water treatment plant, the Central Water Quality Laboratory and the complex’s purification control station.

On this occasion, explanations were given to the children on the control of water quality, the mechanisms of treatment, purification, microbiological and physical analysis of water, and on the role of reservoirs in the preservation of water.

In a statement to MAP, Hamoucha El Boujnouni, Head of the Bacteriological and Parasitological Analysis Department at ONEE, indicated that this visit is part of the Office’s prevention and awareness-raising activities at the national level in order to highlight the role of the Water Quality Control Directorate.

He added that this event also aims to raise awareness among this category of children about the importance of protecting water resources, and to inform the young public about the mechanisms of water analysis, carried out at the mobile water monitoring laboratory.

This campaign, launched by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, is part of the 25th season of the “Clean Beaches” program, which this year concerns 109 beaches, including 27 beaches labeled “Blue Flag”, in addition to four marinas and, for the first time, a natural lake.
