For more than 24 hours, the capital Conakry and its surroundings have been watered by almost incessant rain.

And it is not ready to stop since in a weather alert, the National Meteorological Agency (ANM) predicts rain until Thursday, July 18.

In its weather alert, the ANM predicts thunderstorms and rains of varying intensity across the country in general and in the coastal area in particular.

“The period from Tuesday, July 16 to July 18, 2024 inclusive, is expected to be very rainy across the country. Intermittent thunderstorms of varying intensities will be recorded. Peaks corresponding to times of heavy rain will also be observed. There is a high risk of flooding in vulnerable areas. The coastal area could be particularly affected,” warns the ANM.

Furthermore, the ANM invites the population to remain very vigilant during storms.
