PROCEDURES

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility presented the project for the digitalization of consular services. This will simplify the procedures for Ecuadorians and migrants residing abroad in areas such as the apostille of academic degrees, the issuance of appointments and visa applications.

President Daniel Noboa said that the digitalization of procedures was a request from Ecuadorian migrants.

President Daniel Noboa congratulated the Foreign Ministry for its work and said that the implementation of a digital system was a request made by migrants, following the conversations the president has had with these groups during his trips abroad.

Noboa said that one of the goals of his government is to simplify procedures through the implementation of a digital culture, which optimizes attention and resources to “boost employment and productivity.” With the new digital services, the staff of the Foreign Ministry will be able to concentrate their attention on migrants in vulnerable situations. “We are committed to ensuring that all public services are accessible, efficient and, above all, humane,” said the president.

With the implementation of the artificial intelligence chatbot “Sami”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be able to answer simple questions asked by citizens at any time and from any city in the world. Access can be made from any computer or smartphone.

Appointments at consulates and apostille services for university degrees abroad will also be simplified on the platform. In addition, obtaining electronic visas for Ecuadorians from anywhere in the world will be facilitated.
