Apple will offer iOS 18 users the ability to customize the layout of icons on the desktop, MacRumors reports, Day.Az reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
As media sources have learned, in the new version of iOS, users will be able to arrange application shortcuts at their own discretion. Thus, at the moment, the screen has an invisible grid to which the icons are tied. The update will provide more freedom of action: for example, it will be possible to leave empty space between shortcuts.
The publication’s journalists noted that Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman was the first to report on the innovations. However, he did not disclose the exact details. At the moment, iPhone users can freely arrange icons on the screen only with the help of third-party programs.
The article says that the new feature will be in line with iOS 18, which many experts call the biggest OS update in the last few years. iOS 18 is expected to be announced this summer at the WWDC conference, with a full release in the fall.
