The walkways to visit the Devil’s Throat, the main attraction of the Iguazu Falls, shared by Argentina and Brazil, have been reopened after nine months of restoration due to the damage suffered last October, with “many expectations” for the arrival of visitors, official sources reported on Wednesday.

“We had high expectations for the reopening of the Garganta del Diablo circuit, knowing that it is the main tourist attraction in Argentina and that tourists were also waiting for that announcement to confirm their visit both during these winter holidays and in the future, if one thinks about foreign tourism,” Leo Lucas, president of the Iguazú Tourism Board, told EFE.

The walkways were reopened on Tuesday, after the authorities of the Iguazú National Park and the entity carried out the last monitoring on Monday to confirm that the level of the Iguazú River, whose flooding prevented access on Saturday, had returned to normal.

“We have the best expectations. Yesterday, with the reopening, we received 8,700 visitors, but today we are seeing a higher number. It will continue to increase as the days go by,” said Lucas, who valued this reopening as “very important” due to the value that this great waterfall has for tourists.
