The event “Years of Culture Qatar-Morocco 2024” was opened on February 20 with a special exhibition of Berber jewelry from the Royal Palace at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, in recognition of the exceptional ties that unite the two countries, the two brotherly peoples and the two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim Ben Hamad Al Thani, it is recalled.
As part of “its ongoing commitment” to diversity and inclusion, and in partnership with the “Years of Culture” initiative, aimed at strengthening relations between nations and their peoples, FTA has chosen “the dynamic city of Marrakech as the host city for the event,” underlines the organization, whose mission is to defend the regional creativity of communities.
“This decision highlights the strong relations between Qatar and Morocco highlighted through the Qatar-Morocco Cultural Year 2024, as well as their shared commitment to supporting Arab culture and developing talent in the region,” Fashion Trust Arabia noted in a statement.
The FTA 2024 Prize will welcome guests from around the world to explore and celebrate Moroccan cultural heritage, as part of this initiative which aims to “spearhead sustainable cultural partnerships between Qatar and other countries, promoting respect and understanding between diverse cultures by developing programs related to all aspects of culture,” the same source said.
To accompany this announcement, FTA has created a short video featuring Moroccan talents from diverse creative backgrounds, each illustrating in their own way the richness of Moroccan art and talent, it adds.
The format of the finalists’ presentation, the judges’ deliberations and the awards ceremony will remain consistent with previous editions, assures FTA, which will soon unveil the full programme of its events.
An initiative aimed at strengthening relations between nations and their peoples, “Years of Culture” has designated Morocco as Qatar’s partner for this year 2024.
The year will be punctuated by major artistic exhibitions, festivals and cultural events in each of the two countries. No fewer than 80 events are planned, concludes the same source.
