The latest beta version of Telegram for Android has a feature for publishing posts with photos and videos, which subscribers can access only after paying with the virtual currency Stars. This was reported by the Telegram channel Beta Info, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
Telegram channel subscribers will only be able to see the text of the publication, while to view the photo or video they will need to pay the price set by the author of the post. Access can be purchased using the virtual currency Stars, which users can then exchange for the TON cryptocurrency or use it to pay for purchases within Telegram.
For now, the innovation is available exclusively on the Telegram test server – you won’t be able to access the function by simply downloading the beta version of the application.
To publish a post with paid access, you need to select media files in the gallery, enter the caption text, click on the button with three dots and select the option “Make this content paid”.
It is not specified when the function will appear in stable builds of Telegram. In the past, there was already paid access to posts in Pavel Durov’s messenger, but it was removed due to violation of Apple’s policy.
