Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby stressed that the “Mediterranean Migration Forum” is required to find solutions to the problem, and this cannot be achieved without knowing the causes of migration, which helps solve the problem.
During his speech at the “Mediterranean Migration” forum held in the capital Tripoli, Deby asked, “What drives these people and young people to take risks? When we answer these questions, we can find appropriate solutions to this phenomenon.”
Adding: The African continent is one of the richest continents in the world, due to its rich natural resources and enormous human capabilities, but these countries are still classified as underdeveloped countries, so Africans are forced to leave their countries in search of a better life in the north.
Deby explained that the wars that the continent is experiencing, which were pushed into by the great powers and Western countries, left behind backwardness and poverty that pushed young people to emigrate. If development and security were found in these countries, the African would be proud to live with dignity in his country.
Deby called on all participants in the forum to seriously seek solutions to this issue within the framework of respect for human rights.
He said: As a representative of the black African people, I say: We have lost many of our brothers and sisters and we continue to do so. I address the transit countries that currently contain a large number of migrants who suffer from racism and are not subject to human rights law and humanitarian law. Therefore, all problems must be raised by all parties involved in complete transparency.
At the end of his speech, Deby thanked the Prime Minister for the good organization and hospitality, hoping to reach appropriate solutions to migration for all, whether Africans or transit countries.
