Marrakech: Mr. Bourita underlines Morocco’s constant positions supporting the territorial integrity of Sudan
Marrakech – Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, stressed, Tuesday in Marrakech, Morocco’s constant positions supporting the territorial integrity of Sudan and its legitimate sovereignty and the adoption of dialogue as a basis for resolving the crisis in this country.
During a joint press briefing with his Sudanese counterpart, Mr. Ali Al-Sadiq at the end of their talks on the eve of the holding of the 6th Russia-Arab World Cooperation Forum, scheduled for Wednesday in Marrakech at the level of foreign ministers, Mr. Bourita added that His Majesty King Mohammed VI is fully confident in the ability of the Sudanese to find solutions to make the national interest prevail over any other consideration.
Mr. Bourita also stressed that Morocco is one of the countries that welcomed the Jeddah dialogue and other dialogues, expressing the hope that these dialogues can lead to results that will bring stability and peace to Sudan and its people.
The Kingdom of Morocco, based on its strong human relations with Sudan, is ready to do everything possible to provide the necessary assistance to this brother country so that it can recover its stability and national integrity, he continued.
Mr. Bourita also recalled the strong historical ties uniting the Moroccan and Sudanese peoples, specifying that the positive spirit that marks bilateral relations helps to establish the foundations of relations of fraternity, solidarity and mutual support.
He continued that the strong human relations between the two parties are clearly illustrated by the historical Moroccan Sufi presence in Sudan and the presence of Sudanese citizens in Morocco for decades, noting that the talks with his Sudanese counterpart were an opportunity to examine the ways forward for the development of bilateral relations and the situation in brotherly Sudan.
