Tomas Varneckas, who also holds the position of Head of Infrastructure and Project Management of the EPSO-G Group and Chairman of the Board of the Group company Litgrid, has been appointed as the head of the new company.
“Lithuania’s energy independence and security are the main directions of the Group, and the focus on them is only getting stronger both as synchronization with continental European grids approaches and as we begin to implement the country’s energy vision. At the same time, we are also looking for new areas of activity that would create benefits for the state. One such opportunity for the Group to engage in unregulated activities, and various possible options are currently being evaluated, on which the new company will focus,” says T. Varneckas.
The EPSO-G group of companies consists of the management company EPSO-G and six directly affiliated companies Amber Grid, Baltpool, Energy cells, EPSO-G Invest, Litgrid and Tetas. EPSO-G and Group companies also have shares in GET Baltic, Baltic RCC OÜ and TSO Holding AS. The rights and duties of the sole shareholder of “EPSO-G” are implemented by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania.
