Patrice Aminati has been battling cancer for a year and a half. After feeling better in the meantime, she now had to go back to the hospital.
In spring 2023, Patrice Aminati was diagnosed with melanoma – after a brief improvement, the influencer and her husband Daniel Aminati made it public about a year later that metastases had formed in the lungs. She is still fighting cancer and gives her followers honest insights into the therapy, which is associated with extremely unpleasant side effects. A few days ago, the 29-year-old gave a hopeful update – but now reports a new setback.
In a question and answer session on Instagram, a follower asked Patrice Aminati what side effects of the therapy she was dealing with. She then described short-term side effects such as nausea, vomiting, skin rashes, tiredness and fatigue – and also side effects “that keep coming back – even over a longer period of time”. These need to be treated, reports Aminati, adding: “Unfortunately, this is the fourth time I have been treated for severe immune-mediated side effects – and like now, I am in the hospital.”
Despite several setbacks, Patrice Aminati has not given up hope of a cure. “I hope and pray. Cancer research is constantly developing, there are more and more possibilities,” writes the mother of one daughter. Her treating doctors have also always fought for her and believed in a cure – but she has also been given dire prognoses. “However, one doctor has already told me that I will not live to see Christmas. And that’s a statement that hits home… But I believe in a cure.”
Patrice Aminati says that the following things help her to stay positive: focusing on the good, having a normal everyday life, spending a lot of time outside, being consciously grateful, talking a lot – you can also complain sometimes, you shouldn’t “bottle it up” inside. You should also not compare yourself, set limits for yourself and take breaks.
