(24News) In the Islamabad High Court, Khawar Manika challenged the acquittal of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Iddat Nikah case.
Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Manika filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court through lawyer Zahid Asif Chaudhary. Annulling the conviction, the Appellate Court also disregarded the statements of the prosecution witnesses.
It has been further stated in the application that the decision of the appellate court to acquit both the accused cannot be legally sustained.
In the petition, it is requested that the decision of the Additional Sessions Judge of July 13 to accept the appeals against the sentence should be annulled and the trial court’s decision of February 3 in the Durad Nikah case should be reinstated and the sentence of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi should be reinstated. To be done, the government, PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been made parties in the petition.
It should be remembered that on July 13, 2024, the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad suspended the sentences of 7-7 years imprisonment against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Iddat Nikah case.
It should be noted that on November 25 last year, Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Manika, appearing in the court of Islamabad’s Civil Judge Qudrat, filed a case of marriage during Iddat against Imran Khan and his wife, petition section 494/ 34, filed under B-496 and other provisions.
