Bayern Munich and Israel national team goalkeeper Daniel Peretz will miss the Paris Olympics due to injury.
The club said he had damaged tendons in his thigh. Peretz was one of three players over the age of 23 on the Israeli Olympic team.
The Bundesliga team reported that Peretz is out for several weeks and is currently in Munich. Recall that the Israeli goalkeeper moved to Bayern last year, signing a five-year contract until June 30, 2028.
Peretz previously played for Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he was the starting goalkeeper for the past two years. In the 2022/2023 season, he played 46 matches for the team in all competitions, and this season he managed to play six games.
At Bayern, Peretz wears number 18. He noted that for him it is every child’s dream to play for such a big club as Bayern.
“When I heard about her interest, I had only one desire: for the transition to take place,” the athlete admitted.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Driesen said that the team’s goalkeeping line is now well-equipped with the arrival of Daniel Peretz. He stressed that Peretz has great potential and has already demonstrated his abilities both domestically and in international competitions.
Earlier, “Cursor” reported that the famous athlete unexpectedly came out.
