“Dabaiba” follows up on the conditions of the electricity network and the causes of outages

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, followed up this afternoon at the Cabinet Office, the conditions of the electricity grid and the causes of outages in a number of areas, and the organization of gas supplies to power stations by the National Oil Corporation.

The Director of Production Department presented a position on the productivity of the operating stations, which reaches 8200 megawatts, considering it sufficient for the network to operate normally. He explained that the shortage of natural gas supplies to a number of stations contributed to the power outage in the past few days in a number of cities, stressing the work to address it in coordination with the National Oil Corporation.

The Director of Distribution Department also explained that the construction of the distribution network is proceeding according to the approved plan after many years of neglecting the plan for maintaining and developing distribution lines, in addition to supplying transformers and various spare parts, installing, distributing and operating them to address the voltage drop and ensure the stability of the network.

He added that work is going well in the city of Benghazi and its suburbs, southern Tripoli and the western coast, in addition to an urgent plan for a number of southern municipalities.

Al-Dabaiba directed the necessity of regulating the gas supply to power stations between the Oil Corporation and the Electricity Company, providing the necessary needs after controlling them, and activating the committee of major consumers formed between them.
