The loan waiver amount of up to Rs 1 lakh will be deposited in the accounts of the farmers whose loans are to be waived today.
Government is giving 7,000 crores
The Chief Minister said that a total of Rs 7,000 crore will be deposited in the accounts of the farmers whose loans up to Rs 1 lakh are being waived. Crop loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh will be waived by the end of July and the process of waiving loans up to Rs 2 lakh will be completed in August. This loan waiver is being done under the Rythu Vedikas scheme.
Deputy Chief Minister will meet bankers
It is reported that before the launch of this major program, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarak will hold a meeting with bankers in the morning. A senior level officer will be available for the two districts (undivided old district) at the secretariat to clear the doubts raised by the collectors on the loan waiver scheme and resolve them immediately. The state government has clarified that the ration card is used only for family identification.
70 lakh farmers have taken loan
There are a total of 90 lakh ration cards in the state of Telangana. However, the number of farmer accounts with bank loans is only 70 lakh. The Chief Minister clarified that 6.36 lakh farmers who do not have ration cards and have taken agricultural loans are also eligible to avail the agricultural loan waiver benefit. It is believed that this scheme will give great relief to the farmers of Telangana who are facing many problems like crop failure and low prices in the market. This will help them recover from their debt and improve their livelihood.
