The media coordinator of the Kickboxing Federation, Ahmed Rahim Nema, told Shafak News Agency, “The head of the Olympic Committee, during his meeting with the head of the Kickboxing Federation, Qasim Al-Wasiti, confirmed that the Olympic Committee’s support does not stop towards sports federations, but we seek to bring our games to the highest levels and achieve the best results in important external competitions.”

He added, “The head of the committee promised to give a reward of one million dollars to the player who wins the bronze medal, and two million dollars to the player who wins the silver medal.”

Nima pointed out that “the head of the Iraqi Kickboxing Federation, Qasim Al-Wasiti, said for his part that kickboxing will become one of the Olympic games in the next session, and that he is completely confident that our champions will receive one of the medals in the next Olympics.”

Nima confirmed that “some sports have recently been included in the Olympic Games, including kickboxing, especially since Iraq is the Arab and Asian champion of this game. We hope that kickboxing will be a recipient of medals, and the Federation will work to prepare talented players for the major Olympic event.”
