‘Real Korea Travel’ video surpasses 10 million cumulative views in 4 days since release
Exposed on major billboards in 14 countries including New York Times Square, Tokyo, and Beijing
The overseas promotional campaign for Korean tourism, ‘Real Korean Travel (Koreans’ Korea),’ produced by digital comprehensive advertising company Chai Communication (CEO Choi Young-seop), was unveiled at the appointment ceremony for honorary Korean tourism ambassadors on the 11th.
This video is the main video of the Korea Tourism Organization’s ‘Koreans’ Korea’ campaign, and is notable for having been completed with the direct participation of the public in the production process to promote the ‘charm of genuine Korean tourism’ in celebration of the ‘2023-2024 Visit Korea Year.’
It was conducted in the form of recommending Korean travel courses through comments on a teaser video that was aired in advance, and 2,300 comments were collected during the first half of this year. It is in line with the purpose of introducing ‘real’ Korean travel that Koreans themselves tell you about, which you cannot find through searches, and it is said to have vividly captured travel destinations that Koreans actually love.
In particular, the global group New Jeans, which has consistently promoted the charms of our country, participated as honorary ambassadors for Korean tourism, adding to the meaning. At the beginning of the video, New Jeans introduces various ways in which the current generation can truly enjoy Korea, such as ‘village camping,’ ‘e-sports game experience,’ ‘chicken and beer festival,’ and ‘gukbap.’
The promotional video received an explosive response, surpassing 10 million cumulative views on YouTube in just 4 days since its release. Unlike previous videos that focused on typical Korean food and tourist attractions, this one is popular because it features New Jeans and dynamically and sensually depicts real Koreans eating and enjoying themselves, drawing the attention of the 2030 generation around the world who are interested in Korea.
Meanwhile, the overseas promotional campaign video for Korean tourism produced by Chai Communication will be promoted in earnest starting with ‘Koreans’ Korea’. It will be shown on landmark billboards in 14 major cities including Times Square in New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Beijing until October, and will travel around the world. At the same time, a short-form series called ‘K100’ containing 100 different recommendations for Korean tourism from 100 people and customized promotional videos by theme will also be produced additionally.
