Bulgarian and Romanian companies with up to 250 employees can receive EUR 25,000 in grants under the program “Sustainable transition to flexible and green enterprises – STAGE” to use expert and consulting support in order to prepare a project plan for future investment in sustainable patterns and practices.
This was announced by the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, which is the main communication partner in the international consortium of 14 countries under the STAGE program, quoted by BTA.
Who can take advantage of this opportunity and how?
Enterprises that are ready to invest in an ecological transformation of their business can apply for the grant. The funding will help them attract private investment to realize their projects.
With the allocated funds, they can pay for the services of a STAGE-approved sustainability and/or financing consultant to develop an investment plan for innovation and introduction of green technologies in the business, to do a feasibility study, technology audit, due diligence, adaptation of new business models, etc.
In order to receive funding, companies must be registered on the STAGE platform and have completed the first stage of the Initial Assessment – a tool that analyzes the organization’s activity in environmental, social and governance aspects, as well as in terms of economic indicators and innovation.

There will be several interim deadlines, the first being 30 September 2024.
