Baghdad – WAA
The coach of our Olympic team expressed his satisfaction with the level of performance of the players during the friendly match that took place yesterday against the Egyptian Olympic team as part of the camp held in France in preparation for participation in the Paris Olympics, while he explained the reasons for the loss by one goal to two.
Radhi Shenaishil said in a statement to the (INA) today, Thursday: “The team presented a good level compared to the circumstances of the national team players’ gathering, so there was a difference between the players in terms of performance.”
Shenishil added, “The technical staff tried two ways to play and we determined the most appropriate one. We are trying as much as possible to get the team back to play high-level matches to keep up with the teams participating in the Olympics, as well as to have most of the players participate and assess their technical and physical levels. Most importantly, the players are not suffering from any injuries, and this is a great gain for the team.”
Shenishil continued, “The Egyptian team is a respected team and has players with a high level of experience. We were hoping that another friendly match would be secured so that the benefit would be great and thus the team would get used to facing advanced teams. However, the final result was good and it was a useful experience for the team.”
Regarding the match result, Shenishil explained that “the match witnessed some mistakes that led to the loss, and most of these mistakes were personal or due to the player’s thinking and positioning, and they will be addressed before playing official matches.”
