The Sri Lankan team, which has toured India, is playing 2 Tests and 3 T20s. The T20 series starts today.

During a recent trip to Australia, Sri Lankan spinner Vanindu Hasaranga was hit by a corona. He withdrew from the T20 series after it was revealed he had been affected by the corona before the start of the 3rd T20. He is currently receiving treatment in Melbourne. He bowled 3/38 and 2/33 in both T20 matches played in Australia.

A recent test revealed that Hasaranga had not yet recovered from corona damage. Following this, it has been reported that Hasaranga has withdrawn from the T20 series against India.

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board has not yet announced Hasaranga’s withdrawal from the T20 series. He was able to leave Australia after being infected with the corona for more than a week and a Rapid antigen test confirmed that the corona was absent. But he has to give the RC-PCR certificate that there is no corona in the test to enter India. He is still being treated in Melbourne for this problem.

Arjuna de Silva, the medical team captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team, said in an interview with Cricinfo about Vanindu Hasaranga’s condition:

Vanity ended seven days of isolation in Australia. Currently he has no corona symptoms. If the RT-PCR test concludes that the corona is absent, he can leave immediately. He will not play in the first T20 against India. We have to come to India first. The next thing is whether he will play or not. He has said that the decision about playing will come with fitness.

In the recent IPL auction, Vanitha was offered Rs. 10.75 crore was selected by the RCB team.
