It’s a party at Lecce for the Madonna del Carmine whose simulacrum was placed, exceptionally this year, in the church of San Luigi due to the temporary closure of the rectory of Carmine for restoration.
Yesterday on the eve of the solemnity, after the holy Mass the procession was led by Don Rossano Santoro who was in charge of the long preparation for the novena that began last July 4.
Today 16 July, the liturgical solemnity of the Madonna del Carmelo, as well as the morning celebration (8-9-10-11) was led by for Vito Caputo, for Nicola Macculi, Don Antonio Montinaroat 12 pm the petition to the Madonna and at 7 pm the solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by the archbishop Michael Seccia.
Total indulgence can still be practiced today. And tomorrow 17 July at 6.30 pm a mass will be celebrated in memory of the brothers, sisters, friends and benefactors who died during the past year. At the end, in a procession, the Marian simulacrum will be returned to the rector of Carmine along with the band “Surbo City” of the Master Mino Stella already served on the day of the enthronement and yesterday during the procession.
