The works will be carried out in both roadway and sidewalk areas. Throughout the reconstruction process, residents and visitors to the city will have to face traffic restrictions.

During the construction works, there will be traffic restrictions on the section of Raina Street from Oskars Kalpak Street to the entrance on Raina Street 3. Also, works will be carried out on the section of Ausekļa Street – one-way traffic flow will be organized on one side of the street from the railway crossing (Ausekļa/Rīgas Street) to Pils Street, namely traffic will be organized in one direction on the section from the railway crossing to Raina Park. Temporary local works may be carried out throughout the construction area. During the works, the sections of the streets where the reconstruction will take place may be closed. Information about changes in traffic organization will follow.

Traffic is expected to be diverted to Oskars Kalpaks, Parkas and Rudolfs Blaumaņas streets to the Vidzeme highway, but it should be expected that an increase in traffic intensity is also expected in the city center of Sigulda – Pils and Šveices streets.

This year, it is planned to cut trees and bushes, as well as the construction of engineering networks, including the construction of lighting, rainwater sewerage and drainage networks, domestic sewerage, water pipes and external heat supply networks. It is also planned to carry out street and sidewalk dismantling and reconstruction works, including the construction of asphalt pavement for the street and the construction of pavement pavement for the sidewalk.

The rebuilding of Ausekļa and Raina streets involves the dismantling of the existing roadways and sidewalks and the construction of new pavement structures for both the street and the sidewalk/bicycle path. It is planned to build an asphalt concrete surface on the roadways in Ausekļa Street in the section from the railway to Pils Street and in Raina Street from Ausekļa Street to Cēsu Street. Paving is planned from Pils Street to the intersection of Ausekļa Street with Raina Street. The construction project envisages the construction of roundabouts at the intersection of Ausekļa and Raina streets, as well as at the intersection of Raina and Pils streets, including Jāņas Čakste and Oskars Kalpak streets. Work in these areas will be carried out next year.

The works will be carried out by SIA “Vianova”, with which VSIA “Latvijas Valsts ceļi” has concluded a contract for the performance of works on the object “Reconstruction of the 12.50-13.96 kilometer section of the Inciems-Sigulda-Ķeguma state regional highway”. The contract price is 4,860,908 euros including value added tax (VAT), of which the municipality’s share of the contract price is 323,501 euros including VAT.
