An elderly man was reportedly denied entry into a shopping mall in Bengaluru because he was wearing a dhoti. A video of the incident went viral on the internet, sparking outrage among social media users. Everyone is showing their anger over the video and now actress Gauahar Khan has also reacted to the incident by penning a note in support of the farmer. Gauahar shared the video of the incident on her Instagram handle and wrote, ‘This is absolutely shameful! Strict action should be taken against the mall! This is India and we should all be proud of our culture.’ Farmer Fakirappa was denied entry into GT Mall on Magadi Main Road in Bengaluru because he was wearing a dhoti and white kurta. He had gone to watch a movie at the mall with his son and had a ticket as well. However, a security guard at the mall gate advised the dhoti-clad elderly man that he needed to wear pants to enter the complex.
Farmer prevented from entering the mall
On Wednesday, a case was filed against the mall owner and security guards under Section 126(2) (wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS). On Thursday, the Karnataka government ordered the shopping complex to be shut for a week. Kannada and farmers’ organisations also protested against the event on Thursday.

Talking about Gauahar, the actress has been constantly reacting to controversies in ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’. Recently, during the slapping incident between Vishal Pandey and Armaan Malik, she spoke against the incident. Gauahar took to her social media account and asked her fans if it is wrong to call a married woman ‘beautiful’. She wrote, ‘So is it a crime to call married people beautiful!!!!!???? Anything.’
