Placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, GITEX Africa Morocco aims to be a real opportunity to deepen the efforts made and the work carried out in recent years in the field of digital transition and technological innovation.

This event, supported by the Digital Development Agency (ADD), under the supervision of the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, constitutes a meeting space for leaders in transformative technologies with a view to stimulating the continent’s digital transition with the participation of more than 900 exhibitors and start-ups as well as delegations from 95 countries.

The event will bring together the world’s most prominent innovators, public and private sector leaders, policy makers, investors and academics to discuss the world’s future largest digital economy over three days.

GITEX Africa Morocco, a consecration of the Moroccan digital ecosystem

The largest entrepreneurship event in Africa, GITEX Africa is an initiative of GITEX GLOBAL in Dubai, the world’s largest technology and start-up exhibition, ranked as the best in the world by global technology leaders, and which is making a stopover in this first edition in Morocco, thus retracing its commitment to accelerate the development of digital infrastructures in Africa.

This major event is an opportunity for the efforts made by all the players in the Moroccan digital ecosystem, and will also be an essential platform for sourcing and partnership between exhibitors, investors, researchers and technological operators to discuss innovative solutions and advances made in digital transformation in Africa as a future innovation hub.

GITEX Africa 2023 will also reinforce the progress made in Morocco’s digital development strategy, consolidate its position among the top three African countries with the best ICT infrastructure and will be an opportunity to highlight its position as one of the most advanced telecom markets on the continent.

Africa, an environment conducive to technological innovation

The potential of technology on the African continent remains significant, reflecting the interest of “GITEX Africa” ​​in its first edition and which reflects the ambitions of Africa’s digital transformation and continental initiatives such as the “Smart Africa” ​​vision to create a single digital market in Africa by 2030 with the aim of propelling the continent to the forefront of the global digital transition.

The mission of “GITEX Africa” ​​is to organize an event that serves the African community’s goal of realizing business development, investment and learning opportunities, through empowering the next generation of creative talents in the field of technology to promote an entrepreneurial culture.

Africa’s startup ecosystem continues to make headlines with the creation of seven “UNICORNs” in recent years, while African startups, according to analysts at the Bretter Bridges Center, generated a total of $5.4 billion in profits, and more than 900 deals in 2022.

The global interest in GITEX Africa 2023 will also contribute to the incubation of more than 400 startups from 30 countries, including hundreds of international award-winning startups and 11 UNICORNs eager to share their achievements and enter the promising world of African innovation.

On the sidelines of this first edition, the “GITEX Africa Digital Summit” will also include ten conference themes comprising more than 140 hours of content aimed at exploring the most relevant transformative topics to advance Africa’s digital agenda, from generative artificial intelligence and “smart cities” or “fintech” and “agri-Tech” to the topics of e-health, energy, innovation and sustainable development.

Key themes addressed at this sold-out edition of the world’s most influential forum for dialogue, exchange and collaboration range from analyzing the state of the continent’s digital economy to accelerating the establishment of an integrated and inclusive digital public infrastructure.
