In the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the city of Shusha, as part of the Vagif Poetry Days, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, a theatrical composition “Fizuli Poetry Corner” was presented, dedicated to the 530th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Muhammad Fizuli, the press service of the department told Day.Az.
Speaking before the presentation, the secretary of the SPA, the author of the script of the composition Ilgar Fahmi, spoke about the rich creative heritage of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Muhammad Fuzuli.
Muhammad Fizuli is a great master who occupies an exceptional place in the development of Azerbaijani literary and artistic thought, who had a significant influence on the literature of the countries of the Near and Middle East. The multifaceted artistic and philosophical heritage of the poet, as a thinker who possessed comprehensive knowledge, instilling a deep love for life, man, calling to constantly live with great ideals, with a sense of beauty, is one of the incomparable spiritual values that the Azerbaijani people contributed to the treasury of universal culture. Muhammad Fizuli created perfect examples of poetry in his native language, further enriching the Azerbaijani artistic language, raising it to new heights. His works, which are the personification of a bright genius and are read with great love to this day, have spread over a wide geography from the very beginning of their creation and have earned the author great fame.
In front of the house of Khan’s daughter Khurshidbanu Natavan, an artistic and musical composition based on the works of Muhammad Fizuli “Bengyu-bade”, “Leyli and Majnun”, “Sahhat and Meraz”, “Rindu-Zahid” and others was presented. The director is Honored Artist Logman Kerimov. Actors of the Shusha State Musical Drama Theater, the Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater and the Azerbaijan State Yuğ Theater, Honored Artists Nazir Rustamov, Azad Shukurov, Bakhruz Vagifoglu, Teymur Mammadov, Gasim Nagi, artists Orkhan Abyshev, Pustekhanym Zeynalova, Zhalya Novruz, Zahra Salayeva, Surahi Alimamedova, Nurlan Rustamov, Javad Nuriyev, Elnur Ismailov, Nikhat Geybatov, as well as students of the Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble and the Baku Choreographic Academy took part in the performance.
It should be noted that on January 14, 1982, with the participation of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the mausoleum and the House of Poetry of the great poet and statesman Molla Panah Vagif (1717-1797) were opened in Shusha. It was at this event that Heydar Aliyev supported the initiative of our writers in this direction and gave the order to hold Vagif Poetry Days. The poetry festival was first organized in July 1982. Vagif Poetry Days, which have a 42-year history, are being held in Shusha liberated from occupation for the fourth time.
