American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will perform three evenings in a row in Prague’s O2 universum hall in autumn. He will perform there on October 4-6 as part of the Rough & Rowdy Ways tour, the title of which refers to the last studio album of 2020.

Bob Dylan announced the concerts on his website on Monday morning. Tickets for prices starting at 2,690 crowns will be on sale from Friday morning, the Live Nation agency, which organizes the event, specified later.

The 83-year-old American will start a European tour in Prague. Then he will head to Germany, France, Luxembourg and Great Britain.

Dylan made his first appearance in the Czech Republic 30 years ago, on July 16, 1994, he played in a packed hockey hall at the Prague Exhibition Centre. The last time he performed was five years ago in a packed Lucerne large hall, where he similarly completed three chamber concerts in a row. They included both old hits in new arrangements, as well as songs from the then last self-titled album, Tempest, released in 2012.

The evenings had an almost festival feel, fans lined up in front of Lucerna every evening. “All three performances were solid and differed in nuances, for example the number of solos played on the accordion,” Aktuálně.cz wrote at the time. Since then, the musician has released a studio album, recorded a noir concert called Shadow Kingdom, or published a book of essays about songs translated into Czech.

Bob Dylan, who was born on May 24, 1941, is one of the most influential cultural figures of the 20th century. Its importance has long gone beyond the boundaries of music. During his 60-year musical career, he wrote over 600 songs and sold over 125 million records worldwide. He is also one of the most respected writers, he was the first rock musician to win the Pulitzer Prize and in 2016 he received the Nobel Prize for Literature. In addition, he is a winner of the Grammy, Oscar, Golden Globe and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
