The Euronews TV channel showed a story about the artistic director and chief conductor of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra, Honored Artist Fuad Ibrahimov.
As reported by Day.Az, in the story, Fuad Ibragimov talks about his deep connection with Shusha, a city with a rich cultural heritage that influenced his musical path and became a turning point in his musical career.
Ibrahimov is also the chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra and the Baku Chamber Orchestra. He fondly recalls conducting the Kharybulbul Music Festival in Shusha in 2021, where his long-time dream came true.
Shusha holds historical significance as the birthplace of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli. The city’s rich musical heritage, as well as events from Ibrahimov’s childhood, played a decisive role in his early musical education. He fondly recalls receiving a violin from the great Azerbaijani composer Suleyman Aleskerov as a gift that launched his musical journey.
Despite the hardships of war and forced displacement, Ibrahimov’s love for music remained unshaken thanks to the unwavering support of his mother and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. He was able to receive an education in Germany and take prestigious positions in major orchestras, realizing dreams that once seemed impossible.
As a participant of the Kharybulbul Music Festival in 2024, Ibragimov emphasizes the importance of the festival, which brings together musicians from all over the world and enriches the cultural life of Shusha. He is proud that Shusha has been chosen as the Youth Capital of 2024 and encourages young people to love their work and do it honestly.
