Presidential adviser Tomas Beržinskas confirmed this to Elta.
After returning the Government’s powers to the head of the country after G. Nausėda’s oath, last week I. Šimonytė tested the trust in the parliament. The Seimas approved the candidacy of the Prime Minister.
As provided by the law, the president instructed the prime minister to form the Government and submit its composition for approval within 15 days at the latest.
ELTA reminds that the head of the country has claimed that he has specific names of ministers who, in his opinion, could be changed after the Government returns its powers. The Presidency made it clear that the work of the Minister of Agriculture Kęstutis Navickis is most in doubt. In recent weeks, there have been doubts about the future of Health Protection Minister Arūnas Dulkis in the Cabinet of Ministers.
At the beginning of July, Irena Segalovičienė, the head of the country’s chief adviser, also made remarks to A. Dulkii. She made it clear that after the latter’s departure from the chair of the head of the ministry, there would be leaders in the health system who could occupy this position.
The Prime Minister herself has stated that when considering the renewal of the Government, it is necessary to assess whether these changes would really allow to achieve better quality in the relevant areas.
“It is necessary to look from the point of rationality, whether the change actually allows to achieve some kind of better quality. What we wouldn’t want is for us to solve personal issues in that change. The goal should be for us to improve something. In such a spirit, those discussions can take place,” I. Šimonytė told journalists earlier.
