New Delhi : To prepare for the upcoming budget session of Parliament, the government on Sunday called an all-party meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju held a meeting with leaders of various political parties. In this, the issues to be raised during the session were discussed.
‘Special status for Bihar, Andhra Pradesh’
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted that during the meeting, JD(U) leaders demanded special category status for Bihar, while YSRCP demanded the same for Andhra Pradesh. It is noteworthy that TDP leaders remained silent on the issue. Budget will be presented on 23 July
The budget session of Parliament is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 22. It will have 19 meetings till August 12. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on Tuesday, while the Economic Survey will be presented in Parliament on Monday. During this time the government can introduce six bills. This also includes a proposal to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act.
