Clara Brugada congratulated the Mexico City Congress for the approval of the Paola Buenrostro Law to typify the transfeminicidio as a crime and punishable by up to 70 years; he also assured that he will continue working to guarantee rights and freedoms for all people.
The capital’s Congress approved this Wednesday a remodeling to classify transfemicide as a crime and a hate crime that addresses specific causes based on gender and sexual identity against people who identify as part of the trans community, a decision that was welcomed by the elected head of government, Clara Brugada.

“We want a loving city, without hate crimes, without discrimination and without inequalities. I congratulate the Congress of Mexico City for approving the Paola Buenrostro Law that classifies transfeminicide as a crime and recognizes it as a hate crime,” the future capital governor shared in a message through her social networks.
Brugada recalled the construction of the Mausoleum of Tiresias in honor of Paola Buenrostro, a space located inside the San Lorenzo Tezonco Civil Pantheonin the Iztapalapa City Hallintended for a dignified rest for victims of transfemicide.
It should be remembered that the first stone of the Tiresias Mausoleum was laid in May 2023, while in February of this year it received the remains of Paola Buenrostro; in both events he was present Kenya Cavestrans activist and best friend of the victim.
