The city of Khenifra hosted this weekend the first edition of the national exhibition of stamps, coins and antiquities, organized at the initiative of the Atlas Association for the Conservation of Tangible and Intangible Heritage.
The event, organized on the occasion of the Glorious Throne Day under the slogan “Stamps and currency, symbols of sovereignty and national unity and the embodiment of tangible and intangible heritage”, aims to be an opportunity to present the rare pearls of Moroccan philately and highlight the centuries-old cultural and civilizational heritage of the Kingdom.
The aim of organizing this exhibition is to spread the culture of appreciation and preservation of the Moroccan philatelic heritage and to promote the exchange of experiences between philatelists and numismatists through the promotion of rare and valuable collections of purely Moroccan stamps. The coins reflect the Kingdom’s extremely rich history and the various stages of its centuries-old culture.
Exhibitors presented a selection of stamps, postcards, coins, rare antiques and exclusive photographs highlighting key socio-economic projects launched in different regions of the Kingdom.
Rashid Riah, President of the Atlas Association for the Protection of Tangible and Intangible Heritage, affirmed that the exhibition aims to highlight the rich heritage of Moroccan philately, as well as the diversity of numismatics represented by coins that reflect the national identity and the values of unity and sovereignty.
During the workshops held on the occasion of this exhibition, the organisers focused on the rich history of postage stamps and coins, as well as their evolution through the ages, in addition to the importance of promoting these specialties in the province of Khenifra.
The first edition of this exhibition, launched in partnership with the Poste Maroc group and in coordination with the commune of Khenifra and other philatelic associations, was marked by the participation of amateurs and experts in the collection of postage stamps, coins and collectible photographs.
