Ecuador launched the National PPP Registry to ensure transparency in Public-Private Partnership projects, integrating it into the international Sourse platform.
The Secretariat of Public Private Investments presented this July 2, 2024, the APP National Registry. This platform collects and delivers detailed information about the First seven PPP projects qualified in Ecuador the Interinstitutional Committee on Public-Private Partnerships.
The first seven qualified projects are: Multipurpose terminal of the commercial port of Esmeraldas; Pifo – Y de Baeza road corridor; Montecristi – Jipijapa – La Cadena road corridor; Loja – Catamayo road corridor; Bahia – Cojimíes road corridor; Ambato – Baños – Puyo road corridor and Manta – Quevedo road corridor.
The National APP Registry is integrated into Sourcewhich is an international platform developed with funding from Multilateral Banks and whose adaptation and application process was supported by the Program Euroclimate, by means of the German Agency GIZ.
Furthermore, this platform is recognized by the G7 economic forum and the G20, as it facilitates the development of infrastructure projects in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as with the principles of Quality Investment in Infrastructure of the G20 on a global scale.
Pablo CevallosSecretary of Public-Private Investments, described having the National APP Registry of Ecuador on a platform of international recognition as a fundamental pillar.
“We promote transparent PPP project management, now we will have control over the entire cycle. And we guarantee equal access to information on each project, involving developers from the early stages. A new strength that encourages investment in the country,” he said.

For its part, Cedric Van RielProject Director of the Sustainable Infrastructure Development Foundation -SIF, developers of Sourcenoted that “Ecuador now has an effective technological solution to manage the construction of viable canals, which seek to take advantage of private sector financing for public infrastructure.”
