/ The Israeli Broadcasting Authority revealed on Tuesday, from sources in the Gaza Strip, that Hamas leadership has begun studying options for appointing a replacement for Yahya Sinwar in the event of his liquidation, indicating that the name being circulated as a possible successor to Sinwar is Rawhi Mushtaha.

Rawhi Mushtaha is a member of the Hamas leadership in the Gaza Strip and the person closest to Sinwar. He was in the same cell with him and they were released together in the Gilad Shalit deal. Since then, Mushtaha has become Sinwar’s right-hand man and his envoy for special missions. Mushtaha may have been in contact with the Hamas leadership abroad recently as well.

According to the Authority, it was widely circulated in Israel that Rawhi Mushtaha had been liquidated along with Ahmed Ghandour, the commander of Hamas’s northern Gaza Division and the link between the movement’s military wing and political leadership.

But it later turned out that Mushtaha was hiding at that time in the Ramal neighborhood and that he remained alive and since then he has reduced his movements to a minimum, and he has not been seen in public and his voice or anything has been heard from him since then.
