Vietnam, full of ‘riding’ fun! The first destination is Ho Chi Minh City. The first impression of Ho Chi Minh City is the motorcycles that fill the roads. There is a joke that says ‘Mongolia is a horse-riding people, Vietnam is a motorcycle people’, because there are far more motorcycle drivers than public transportation users in Vietnam. The alleys in the old city, hẻm, are hard to find unless you ride a motorcycle or walk. When you enter hẻm, you can see tall buildings, tube houses. This type of housing was created during the French colonial period due to a policy of imposing taxes based on the width of the building entrance. To reduce taxes, the tube houses were built short in width and high in order to secure space, naturally forming narrow alleys. Take a walk around hẻm, where most of Ho Chi Minh City’s population lives, and get a glimpse of the cozy life of people, and taste the soul food of Ho Chi Minh people, goc (ốc, ok).
Leaving the alleys of Ho Chi Minh City, we head to the Mekong Delta, a delta region along the Mekong River. The Mekong Delta Tour, which departs from My Tho, leads to four nearby islands formed by sediments on the riverbed. Each island presents a unique traditional culture of the Mekong Delta, such as Unicorn Island (Thoi Son) where you can enjoy various tropical fruits and traditional music, and Coconut Island (Cồn Phụng) where you can learn everything from coconut harvesting to candy making. The Mekong Delta includes 13 provinces and cities in southern Vietnam. It is said that close to 20 million people live off the Mekong River. Many of them are boat traders who carry crops or food on wooden boats. You can meet them at the 100-year-old Cai Rang floating market. We take a look at their ordinary happiness of eating, sleeping, loving, working, and living on the ceaselessly swaying waters, and head to the final travel destination in the Mekong Delta.

Tra Su Ecological Reserve (Rung Tram Tra Su), which was left in ruins due to the scars of war, was revived through the efforts of people and the amazing healing power of nature. End your Mekong Delta trip in the quiet time on a boat gliding through the mysterious landscape.
