The group New Jeans will be taking a break from activities for the time being.

On the 23rd, the agency Adore stated on their official social media account, “New Jeans, who successfully concluded this activity that went through many difficult processes and was breathlessly busy, will take some time to rest to recharge and then prepare to return with a new look.”

He continued, “However, in the meantime, we plan to meet our fans with surprising schedules and content,” and asked for “a lot of anticipation and interest.”

New Jeans released their Japanese debut single ‘Supernatural’ on the 21st of last month and began promotions.

Meanwhile, New Jeans was recently embroiled in suspicions that their song “Bubblegum,” released on May 24, plagiarized Shaka Tak’s “Easier Said Than Done.”

In response, in June, Shakatak appointed a domestic law firm and sent a certified letter to Adore stating its position: “Stop using ‘bubble gum’ and pay damages.”

However, Adore, the agency, released a statement on the 23rd, explaining, “The two songs are different in terms of chord progression, BPM, and the overall mood and flow of the songs.” They continued, “It is judged that the melody development of a short phrase is similar, but it is difficult to claim that this melody development was only used uniquely in ‘Easy, Sad Than Dawn,’ and it is a form of line that can be commonly found in many popular music regardless of genre, from music released before that to the present.”
