The AIADMK has announced protests on Feb. 28 in district capitals against the arrest of former minister Jayakumar in a case of attacking a DMK figure half-naked.
Former AIADMK minister Jayakumar has been arrested and jailed for allegedly assaulting a DMK leader during the urban local government elections by stripping him half-naked.

The AIADMK has been blaming the ruling DMK government for this. AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam and co-coordinator Edappadi K. A joint statement issued by Palanichamy condemned Jayakumar’s arrest and announced that protests would be held on February 28 in all district capitals across Tamil Nadu.
