Biography of Mr. Mohamed Benyahya, appointed by HM the King as Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency
Rabat – Mr. Mohamed Benyahya, whom HM the King appointed on Friday as Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency, holds a doctorate in environmental sciences, specializing in ecotoxicology, from the Center for Ecological Research at the University of Metz (France, 1991).
Since 2022, Mr. Benyahya has held the position of Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development – Department of Energy Transition. He also held the position of Secretary General of the Department of Sustainable Development in 2017, after having held the position of Director of Partnership, Cooperation and Communication at the State Secretariat for Sustainable Development from 2008 to 2017.
He was also Head of the Budget and Human Resources Division at the Secretariat of State for Water and the Environment (2008), Sustainable Development Advisor to the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection (2007) and Head of the Partnership Division at the Ministry of Regional Planning, Environment, Urban Planning and Housing (2000-2004).
