A project that unites art, culture, history and sustainability for a good cause
This initiative by the City Council of La Antigua Guatemala, in collaboration with the platform “Por un Mundo Limpio como el Vidrio” (For a World Clean as Glass), seeks to combine art, culture, history and sustainability to generate a positive impact on the community. The commemorative bottles not only celebrate the history and culture of the city, but also promote local artistic talent.
The funds raised through its sale will go to the Santiago Legion of La Antigua Guatemala, of the Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos Voluntarios, which this year celebrates 60 years of service to the community. This noble cause seeks to support these heroes without capes who are at the service of the population, guaranteeing their capacity to respond to emergencies.
In addition, more than 50 water filter points have been installed in the colonial city thanks to EcoFiltro’s “Water for All” program. This effort seeks to encourage the reuse of containers, such as glass bottles, for drinking water, thus contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution.
Where can I buy them?
The initial batch of the project consists of 20 thousand bottles, with 5 thousand units of each design. These will be available starting July 25 and can be purchased through members of the Volunteer Fire Department, who will sell them in parks, streets and church atriums in Antigua Guatemala.
They will also be available in member establishments of the Association of Responsible Antiques Owners (ADAR), such as restaurants and bars, as well as in some municipal offices and institutions that decide to join the project. This wide distribution will allow both residents and visitors of the colonial city to acquire their own and, in doing so, support a vital cause for the community.
