The two companies are merging their flagship platforms: Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE with Cadence’s Allegro. The collaboration makes it possible to produce “digital twins” of complex systems, electronic and mechanical, and manage their entire product life

Cadence Design Systems (Cadence) And Dassault Systèmes (Dassault Systems) Announce strategic collaboration in developing a new generation of tools for developing electronic systems. The companies have combined Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform with Cadence’s Allegro platform. The joint solution enables designers to perform multidisciplinary modeling, simulation and optimization of complex and interconnected electronic systems. The new solution makes it possible to accelerate the development process of complete systems, taking into account variables such as performance, reliability, production capacity, supply chain, compatibility and costs.

As part of the collaboration, the two companies collaborated with key customers in a multi-year test designed to test the new solution in a global manufacturing environment. The combination of the two systems makes it possible to produce a digital twin (virtual twin) and manage the life cycle of electronic and mechanical products – from the level of development and business processes to tracking products that have hit the market. This holistic virtual model provides a complete view of electrical and mechanical simulation, of production and of the supply chain.

The industry is facing stringent requirements

“Our strategic partnership with Cadence will revolutionize the development of electronic systems by providing the ability to collaborate at the digital twin level,” said Philip Laufer, senior vice president of global brands at Dassault Systèmes. Cadence Custom IC & PCB Group Manager Tom Buckley said all industries today face difficulties in developing new products because of the complexity of factors such as electrification, security, connectivity, artificial intelligence and machine learning, the need for cloud connectivity, changing and complex regulation and more. The collaboration between Cadence and Dassault Systèmes will enable companies to jointly manage all components of electronics, mechanics, manufacturing and product life management. ”
