In the last electoral process, 21,027 candidates from political parties and coalitions were registered, as well as 122 independent candidates – 1,310 federal and 19,839 local -, which guarantees the transparency and legality of said elections.

Within the framework of the supervision of these elections, the staff of the Technical Inspection Unit (UTF) of the INE punctually carried out the field procedure that consisted of monitoring billboards and propaganda placed in public spaces, newspapers, magazines and other print and electronic media.

This monitoring resulted in 252,435 witnesses that were assessed and compared by the UTF with the records of the obligated subjects.

During the review process of the candidate reports, reported income totaling 7 billion 547 million 764 thousand 504.40 pesos and expenses totaling 7 billion 401 million 006 thousand 431.31 pesos were analyzed.

These income and expenses were recorded in a total of 541 thousand 028 operations in the Comprehensive Inspection System (SIF), of which 135 thousand 368 are from PEF and 405,660 from the local level.

Regarding the Sanctioning Procedures in the area of ​​oversight, 2,383 complaints related to the 2023-2024 electoral processes were recorded. Of this number, 306 are from the pre-campaign period, of which 181 have been resolved, 125 are pending resolution, as well as an unofficial citizen support procedure.

The General Council of the INE will resolve the irregularities found in the income and expenditure reports of the candidates who participated in the Federal and local Electoral Process 2023-2024.

The INE reiterates its commitment to carry out the oversight of the concurrent federal and local electoral processes in a rigorous manner to guarantee transparency and accountability in the use of resources used by political parties, coalitions and competing candidates.
